How will I receive a refund or pay an IRS balance?

You’ll be asked if you prefer to receive your refund by direct deposit (recommended) or pay an IRS balance electronically (recommended). A form will be sent to gather ACH info or you can simply upload a voided check that corresponds with the bank you wish to receive a refund or pay a balance.

You may also choose to receive a paper check by mail and/or pay an IRS balance online. Payments to the IRS can be made here on the official IRS.gov website.

How long does it take to receive a refund?

Electronically: IRS states: 21 days, but this time varies. Paper checks can take up to 6 weeks, or more to receive. We make no guarantee as to the speed of which the IRS disperses funds. To check the status of your refund online visit the official IRS.gov website. Note that it takes 24 hours from the time your taxes were e-filed and accepted to appear on the status page, some clients have experienced a delay up to 3-5 days before appearing.

How do I pay an IRS balance online?

If you did not provide your tax preparer with bank information, it is your responsibility to pay the IRS balance. Payments to the IRS can be made here on the official IRS.gov website.

What happens If I don’t receive the paper check, it’s lost / stolen, or I move?

Tax Service Masters is not liable for lost, stolen or delayed paper IRS checks, or any IRS action thereof. To mitigate lost paper IRS checks chose the electronic option and provide account details to your tax preparer when asked, or simply provide your tax preparer with a voided check that corresponds with the account you wish to receive a refund.
