Tax Resolution – Client Checklist

Below you’ll find everything your licensed tax professional needs to start the tax resolution process.

Investigation

During the Investigation phase of tax resolution, your tax professional gathers required documentation to submit to the IRS for representation. During this phase we create client case folders on and offline, and create your digital profile on tax resolution software. If we were contracted to service your case Skip 1. & 2. Your Basic Taxpayer Information and Engagement Letter were already provided to us.

3. Power Of Attorney – Sign and Date Line 7 of Page 2. IRS is not currently accepting electronic signatures, must be hand signed.

Discovery

After your tax professional speaks with an IRS agent and investigates your transcripts you will receive a Discovery. If applicable, your tax professional will advise you which forms are needed after the discovery.

4. Tax Preparation – (Optional) Only needed if your tax professional determines tax preparation is needed.

5. Financial Disclosure Form – (Optional) needed when applying for most tax resolution options. Normally, not needed when applying for an installment agreement.

Tax Resolution Options

6. Installment Agreement PDF – If this option is advised by your tax professional and chose by you (the client). Only fill out Page 1 DIRECT DEBIT area (a. Routing number, b. Account number, Your signature, Date). Your Tax professional will fill out the rest of the form. If it is filled out incorrectly the form will be rejected and cause further case delay, save document and return by email, upload, or fax.

7. Currently Not Collectible 433F- No client action required. Your tax professional submits documentation and a decision will be made by the IRS, or IRS managing official. Decision times vary (same day – 3 weeks).

8. Offer In Compromise – 433A Personal 433B Business – No client action required. Your tax professional submits documentation and a decision will be made by the IRS, or IRS managing official. Decision times vary (6 months – 1 year).
